Interior trends 2024 arches and curve ideas

Written by Sophie Clemson

Curves and arches are set to be a big interior trend for 2024. We are already seeing so many brands incorporate the trend throughout their furniture pieces, from bedside tables to accent armchairs to headboards. We are loving this trend because curves help to soften a room and add interest. We will be seeing arches through architectural features such as curved doorways and with furniture pieces too. If you want to know all about the trends we think will be big this year, check out our blog, Top 6 interior design trends 2024.

We’ve shared with you our favourite curve and arch pieces that we are loving right now. Whether you want to splash out and invest in the trend or start with smaller pieces, we have found both!

Dunelm - Romy Mango Wood Bedside Table

We love the Romy bedside tables from Dunelm. They’re a contemporary design with a minimal feel, with open shelving rather than drawers. A bonus is that they come assembled, so there is no need to get the tool kit out! We love both colours in this mango wood bedside table. It’s hard to say which one I would choose for myself!

John Lewis - Drift armchair

This gorgeous moss green armchair from John Lewis oozes a modern luxury feel with the smooth velvet fabric. It is giving Soho Home vibes. We love the curved back and the wooden legs. It's perfect if you’re on the lookout for a mid-century armchair. (This would definitely be going in my basket)

Feather & Black - Aubrey bed and Marks & Spencer - Semi circle bed

We think beds with arch headboards work really well for kid’s rooms as they have a casual and fun feel however, we’ve found some beautiful beds that would give your bedroom a sophisticated look. We particularly like the Aubery bed from Feather and Black with the weathered oak arch frame, upholstered in taupe velvet. It has a classic feel with a modern twist. Or if you’re looking for something more affordable, the semi circle bed from Marks and Spencer is a gorgeous alternative.

Anthropologie - Fern ash wood storage cabinet

Bookcases and storage cabinets are a great way to add height to your room, whether that's in your living room, dining room, or open plan space. Not only do they provide additional storage, but they can also be a feature piece in the room. The beautiful Fern storage cabinet from Anthrolpogie would do just that. It is nailing the arch and curve trend! It is an expensive piece of furniture, so you really need to have fallen in love with this cabinet. I mean, what's not to love about the interesting round legs, the marble top, and the natural wood drawers with brass handles? It's a showstopper, for sure! All you have to do is decide which out of the three colours you would go for (I think it would be the neutral wood option for me because it has a vintage look about it).

Chloe chest of drawers

If you love a modern country interior style, this concave chest of drawers could be for you. The Chloe chest of drawers from EZ Living Furniture isn't just a trending piece for 2024, it has a timeless feel, meaning it will last for years to come. We love the attention to detail with the wicker rattan top.

Sklum - Vacry console table

Sometimes less is more, and this simple yet stylish console table is just that. The Vacry console table from Sklum has nailed the curve trend so well with this piece. We love it for its simplicity, and the chunky wood makes it look so much more expensive than it is. You could style this console table with a table lamp, a couple of books laid flat, and a leafy plant on top. Read our blog, ‘How to style your shelves’ for more styling inspiration

Graham & Green - Lucien wicker stool

The Lucien wicker stool has a subtle nod to the arch trend with its wooden frame. It's a lovely piece of furniture to incorporate the trend into your room without going all out or investing too much money.

William Wood - Luciana arched concrete mirror

William Wood is leading the way with arch mirrors at the moment. They have so many options, whether you’re opting for a timeless feel or something a bit more industrial using natural materials. The Luciana arched concrete mirror has an architectural look, with the frame almost resembling an arch doorway. To make sure you avoid any mistakes when hanging mirrors in your home, take a look at our blog, ‘5 common mistakes to avoid when hanging a mirror’.

Barker & Stonehouse - Ren dining chair

Bring in the curves with your dining chairs. The Ren dining chairs from Barker and Stonehouse are contemporary and sophisticated. We love the curved wood frame detail on the back of the chair. The backs of dining chairs can often be forgotten, but after all, it's what we see most of the time, so the back should be just as interesting. These curved dining chairs would work perfectly in an open plan kitchen/diner where the backs of the chairs can be fully exposed and seen.

Furn. - Archie cushion and Abigail Ahern - Gianna Cushion

A cheaper way to add the curve trend to your home is through soft furnishings and accessories. Just like the contemporary Archie cushion cover from Furn, at only £11 - bargain! Abigail Ahern is also nailing the arch and curve trend with the Gianna embroidered cushion. We love the texture and contrast on this cushion. A quick tip with cushion covers, always go for a feather filled insert, they will instantly make the cushion look more expensive.

Swyft - Matrix arches rug and Olsen rug

Bring the curves and arches to your floor. Swyft have really worked these trends into their contemporary rugs. We love the Matrix arches rug for its strong pattern and contrast, this would look cool and modern in a living room or could even work in a kids bedroom. The Olsen rug is also another favourite of ours, perfect if you prefer a minimal and neutral look but want to add a subtle pattern into your room.
