Our I Love Wallpaper top 5 picks

Written by Rebecca Connolly

When we were asked by I Love Wallpaper to pick 5 of our favourite wallpapers, it was a difficult job! After much discussion and debate between us, we eventually settled on these top 5. Each brings something different and special to your room, and can be styled to create a luxury look. Read on, as we show you how to get the most from each choice.

Cleo Geometric, black

The Cleo Geometric is the perfect wallpaper if you would like to add drama to your space. If you're looking for dark and daring in your home then this one's for you. It has the most gorgeous art deco style gold pattern, a classic style that pairs beautifully with gold and brass accessories to bring the look together. It’s a wallpaper that provides effortless elegance. We would love to see it in a dining room as the formal style and would work great with dark furniture and gold accents. If you love an eclectic style or have any vintage pieces of furniture in your home, the Cleo wallpaper would be the perfect addition.

Venice Industrial Metallic, ivory gold

We love this colourway of the Venice Industrial Metallic. If you love a glam feel with a slight industrial edge this is perfect. When the light catches it, the beautiful brass tones shine through elevating this neutral paper to something really special. The warm neutral tone and the texture of the paper creates a cosy look, just right for a bedroom. We would style it with a large vase filled with pampas grass, brass lighting and a luxurious headboard for a touch of luxury!

Liquid Marble, grey and gold

We love this wallpaper and believe it deserves a place in your home! The liquid marble has an abstract quality and a contemporary feel, adding interest to a grey room, without being overpowering. The mix of different greys allow the paper to work easily with many other greys in your room- something that can be tricky to get right with a single tone of grey. The metallic sheen is both gold and silver in different lights, a really beautiful effect.

If you like to add colour, this would pair beautifully with a soft pink or deep navy. We would suggest using it for a bedroom where you could turn up the luxe look with feature wallpaper behind your bed, a large velvet charcoal grey headboard, a dark rich navy on the surrounding walls and brass accessories. Sleek, simple and sophisticated!

Betty Metallic, gold

Betty Metallic is a firm favourite with us. We love the geometric design on this wallpaper and it comes in lots of fabulous colourways too!

As the background is neutral, you could pair this with many different colours. We would love to add it to a dark green scheme, where the gold would really pop. To soften the look we would finish it with a soft plaster pink on the accessories, to strike the perfect balance between daring and effortlessly chic.

Milan Metallic, blush pink and  gold

Milan Metallic is an industrial style paper with added glamour, a stunning design that glistens in the light. We think this wallpaper would work really well for a pre teen bedroom. If your child is outgrowing their childhood bedroom and wants a more grown up feel, the Milan wallpaper would be brilliant. It’s a paper that can grow with them for many years to come. The softness of the blush pink background can be more girly now and in the future could be given a more boutique hotel feel, with a statement headboard and classic styling in gold and dark wood. A real hero wallpaper to stand the test of time.
